The Lido House “Logo” Project, By Shannon Wadsworth
The Lido House, a coastal hotel committed to environmental sustainability, has partnered with the Surfrider Foundation to become certified as the first "Ocean Friendly Hotel” in Newport Beach, CA. This artwork was created to raise awareness of issues like the plastic pollution crisis affecting coastlines globally and locally. The majority of the "Logo" is made from single-use plastic bottle caps collected during beach cleanups by the Surfrider Foundation on North Orange County beaches. Local shells were also incorporated to highlight the imbalance between nature and humanity, emphasizing the severity of the plastic waste crisis.
